The publication by the OECD of Trade in Value-Added (TiVA) indicators has fostered new demand for specific tailored calculations beyond the scope of the OECD's resources. This new application serves to meet user demands for indicator calculation and dissemination, above and beyond published core indicators.
Input-Output calculations use linear algebra to obtain potentially large numbers of results. The calculations are fairly complex from the perspective of non-expert users and thus difficult to replicate. Numbers underlying the calculations have the form of coefficient and data matrices.
